The speech issues often can be improved greatly with speech therapy. I am glad there are no other major damages. I have seen terrible things working in the nursing home with strokes.
You could not have known to call the day before, so do not feel responsible.
You are there for her now and that is what matters. These things are mostly out of our hands. The prayers were the best thing 🙂

She fed herself (soft food) and walked with assistance. Today she had lots of tests done and speech, physical & occupational therapy. She is strongly motivated to get better.

My mom’s a trouper. Wish I had called the day before. I thought something was off. She’s doing well. Most deficits in speech.

My thoughts are with you. This is a very hard thing to go through. I used to take care of stroke victims at one of my jobs. The damage varies greatly depending on the amount of time it took to get them to the hospital and other factors.
I hope her damage is minimal. Some people are nearly good as new afterwards.
My prayers are with you about her recovery and your peace of mind. These kinds of things that have “chance” involved are in God’s hands. We are all praying for Gos’wisdom and compassion. -
